Lie

Lie is an invented language I created, rooted in the sound system of Chinese pronunciation. The work investigates translation as a transformative act: when a text is translated from one language to another, what is altered, what survives, and what becomes unrecognizable? By constructing and performing this language over time, I explore how meaning leaks, mutates, or persists in the gaps between utterance and interpretation.
